Too Little, Too Late?

Dear Mr. Stephen Harper

With the upcoming election, you must be thinking heavily about the outcomes of such a grand occasion. During this time when campaigning has been a high priority, I’ve been working on a high priority problem as well.

I’ve been on a spectacular voyage and have been travelling from Iceland to Greenland and to Baffin Island to learn about climate change and to hopefully produce ideas that will negate this change effectively. I know that the North may not be the highest point on your agenda.

However, it is one of the highest points on mine. I ask the government to step in while it is still possible and to not be blinded by economics alone. In the international community, Canada has become a laughing stock on the issue of climate change. This fact is shameful at best.

So, Mr. Harper, while you’re campaigning, speak to the younger demographic of voters whose future lies in the hands of those in power today. We’re already paying for the mistakes of your generation. Don’t make us pay with our future.

Sincerely,
Hailey R.
