Save Our Arctic

I have recently been part of an expedition that involved taking 28 students from all over the world on an expedition to the Arctic. We were focusing on climate change through the mediums of art and science. The expedition has opened my eyes to how serious an issue climate change is and how quickly we need to act on it before it’s too late.

Everyone can play a part in helping reduce climate change. If you could follow these simple steps and influence others to do so as well, it would be a step in the right direction.

1.  Recycle as much of your garbage as possible especially if you have a recycling scheme in your neighbourhood.

2.  Try to drink less bottled water and drink tap water instead (it’s cheaper and it doesn’t involve unnecessary production of plastics and transportation around the world).

3.  Don’t use the car for journeys of less than 1 km--walk or cycle. You’ll get some exercise and some fresh air, and you won’t be polluting the environment.

4.  Reduce the amount of food that you waste. If it’s the first time you’re trying something, take a little helping then if you like it, have more.

There are many more steps that you can take to reduce your emissions, but following these simple steps will set you in the right direction to becoming greener.
